Packers, LaFleur agree to multiyear contract extension

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a multiyear contract extension with head coach Matt LaFleur, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. LaFleur’s previous contract was set to expire after this season. Pelissero also reported the Packers are expected to extend contracts for general manager Brian Gutekunst and executive vice president Russ Ball.

Questions had surfaced about LaFleur’s future in Green Bay after the Packers dropped their final five games, including blowing a 21-3 halftime lead in a Wild Card playoff loss to the Chicago Bears.

LaFleur has spent seven seasons as the Packers’ head coach, compiling a 76-40-1 record. He has led Green Bay to three NFC North titles, six playoff appearances and two trips to the NFC Championship Game.
