Phoenix men pull away from Vikings in second half

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team continued their attack on the Horizon League with a 88-73 win over Cleveland State.

Going against the best three-point shooting team in the conference, it was the Phoenix that actually had the upperhand from beyond the arc with 15 three-pointers at a 50 percent clip compared to 10 for the host Vikings. Those extra threes came in handy to keep the game close in the first half as they entered the break trailing 40-37 only to see the game flip in the second half.

The Phoenix had four players reach double-figures with Preston Ruedinger narrowly missing a triple-double with 23 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds. Marcus Hall added 21 points, C.J. O'Hara contributed 16 points, and Justin Allen added 13 points in the win. The Vikings had three players in double figures, led by Tre Beard's 18 points.

The Phoenix men are back home for a Sunday matinee against Oakland at 1 p.m.
