Gunnar Conboy's goal midway through the extra time completed the comeback for the Green Bay Gamblers as they beat the Dubuque Fighting Saints 3-2 on Monday.
Gavin Katz's game-tying goal midway through the first period looked to be the lone tally the Gamblers would get against Fighting Saints netminder Owen Crudale. Trailing 2-1 in the closing two minutes of the third period, Andrew O'Sullivan found the back of the net to push the game into overtime and set up Conboy's heroics.
Owen Buesgens tallied two assists and Katz added an assist in the Gamblers win. Joey Slavick picked up the win in goal as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced.
The Gamblers will return home for their traditional New Year's Eve date with Madison at 6:05 p.m.
