Eagles and Clippers boys' wrestling heading to Preble Invitational

The Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay boys’ wrestling teams are heading to Green Bay Preble this Saturday for an invitational meet.

Battling some of the best teams in the state, the Southern Door wrestling team went toe-to-toe with that quality at last Saturday's Battle on the Bay Tournament hosted by Bay Port. Clark LeFevre was the top place winner for the Eagles, taking 11th place overall with a 3-2 record. Chance Dekeyser, Gavin Johnkejacquet, and Oliver Wilke also posted multiple wins on the day.

Only their hosts finished in front of them at Saturday's Brillion Invitational as Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestling took second place as a team. SBS scored 197 points, five points behind the Lions for the top spot and 13 points in front of 3rd-place Green Bay United. Nate Hasenjager (106) and Spencer Madsen (175) won their brackets while Anthony Estevez (3rd), Ray Johnson Jr. (3rd), Julian Langer (2nd), Harrison Schartner (2nd), and Patrick Shefchik (2nd) also finished in the Top 3 of their respective weight classes. Madsen could break the program's all-time win

Schools to be in attendance are Wetosha Central, Kaukauna, Neenah, DC Everest, Pulaski, Chilton, Lomira, Menominee Indian, Mishicot, Ozuakee, Ripon, and Waupaca.

Wrestling begins at 9:45 AM.
