The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team used an 18-5 run to start the second half to secure their first Horizon League win of the season, beating IU-Indianapolis 85-75 in The Jungle.
The game looked like it was getting away from the Phoenix before a 9-0 run helped them reel in the Jaguars. The two teams traded blows the rest of the first half with the Jaguars taking a 36-33 lead into the locker room. The 18-5 run gave the Phoenix the lead, but the Jaguars would not go down without a growl, cutting the deficit to one before they salted the game away at the free throw line, knocking down 12 in the final minutes to secure the win.
LeBron Thomas, C.J. O'Hara, and Preston Ruedinger each scored 20 points in the Phoenix win while the Jaguars were led by Micah Davis and D'Augustino, who each scored 17 points apiece.
The Phoenix will have the weekend off before they play UC-Santa Barbara on Wednesday at 6 p.m. inside the friendly confines of the Kress Events Center.
