Phoenix women thrash Jags

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team ended its game against Indiana University-Indianapolis on a 20-7 run to defeat the Jaguars 74-47 for their third Horizon League win of the season.

A pair of 7-0 runs in the first and fourth quarters helped the Phoenix win the game comfortbly. The Phoenix also shot an efficient 50 percent from the arc, knocking down eight three-pointers on 16 attempts to thrust them ahead of their hosts. Their defense was equally strong, holding the Jaguars to less than 30 percent shooting from the field, including 18.5 percent from deep. They also forced 16 turnovers in the contest, turning those into 24 points.

The Phoenix boasted four players in double figures including Meghan Schultz (13 points), Ellie Buzzelle (12 points), Gracie Grzesk (11 points) and Kamy Peppler (11 points).

The Phoenix will head west for one of its final non-conference games of the season when they battle #20 Washington on Saturday at noon.
