Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been nominated for the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which recognizes NFL players for their exceptional positive impact both on and off the field. Love is the founder of the Hands of 10ve Foundation. The foundation's mission is to empower children from all backgrounds to participate in sports while promoting mental health and suicide-prevention awareness and fostering improved relationships between youth and law enforcement.
One of the foundation's key initiatives, 10ve for Cleats, donates a pair of cleats to an entire youth football team for every touchdown Love scores during the season. In its first year, the program donated over 1,300 pairs of cleats to 26 teams in Wisconsin and is now expanding to include his hometown of Bakersfield, California. Hands of 10ve also organizes annual community events such as the Green Bay Charity Softball Game, youth football camps in Bakersfield and Milwaukee, winter coat drives, and holiday shopping sprees for local children.
