Preston Ruedinger's career-high 30 points helped the Green Bay Phoenix score the 95-55 win over Haskell Indian Nations Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix used their size and their athletic ability to jump out to an early 9-0 lead and keep the Fighting Indians at a distance for much of the game. They outrebounded the Fighting Indians 48-22 and shot 23 percentage points better from the field (56 percent to 33 percent). Ruedinger played his part to help the Phoenix extend their 39-26 halftime advantage to more than 40 points at points of the second half, scoring 20 of his 30 points after the break.
Joining Ruedinger in double figures were Ramel Bethea's career-high 15 points and C.J. O'Hara's 13 points. Trey Gains (17 points), Ryan Hawkins (11 points), and Evan Puryear (10 points) led the Fighting Indians in scoring.
The Phoenix are back in action on Thursday when they open Horizon League play against the defending conference champions Robert Morris University on the road at 6 p.m.
