Packers announce roster moves

Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced several roster moves on Wednesday. The team has elevated two players from the practice squad to the active roster: linebacker Jamon Johnson and defensive back Jaylin Simpson. Additionally, wide receiver Will Sheppard was signed from the practice squad to the active roster. Sheppard is a 6'3", 196-pound rookie whose collegiate career included a season at Colorado (2024) and four seasons at Vanderbilt (2020-2023). During his time in college, Sheppard amassed 200 receptions for 2,688 yards and 27 touchdowns, and he also returned 18 punts for 131 yards. His best season came in 2022 when he earned 2nd Team All-SouthEastern Conference honors after recording 60 catches for 776 yards and 9 touchdowns. In a corresponding move, kicker Lucas Havrasik has been released.
