The Green Bay Packers have moved practice squad linebacker Kristen Welch to the active roster, according to an announcement by GM Brian Gutekunst. This move follows the placement of G/C Elgton Jenkins on injured reserve. Welch, a 6th-year NFL veteran out of the University of Iowa, began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens (2020-2022). He previously had a stint with the Packers in 2023, signed with the Broncos in 2024, and re-signed with Green Bay this season. Throughout his career, Welch has participated in 74 games, including 2 starts. His career statistics include 13 tackles (6 solo) on defense and 28 tackles plus one fumble recovery on special teams.
