Packers fall short to Eagles on Monday Night Football
The Green Bay Packers were defeated by the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, losing with a final score of 10-7. The loss drops the Packers to 5-3-1, placing them 3rd in the NFC North standings. The game remained scoreless throughout the first half. The Eagles finally broke the deadlock in the third quarter with a 39-yard field goal from kicker Jake Elliot with 8:58 remaining. Philadelphia extended their lead to 10-0 when Jalen Hurts connected with Devonta Smith for a 36-yard touchdown pass, followed by an extra point from Elliot, with 10:44 left in the fourth quarter. The Packers managed to respond late in the game. With 5:55 remaining, Josh Jacobs ran for a 6-yard touchdown. Brandon McManus added the extra point, narrowing the deficit to 10-7. Green Bay's comeback attempt was ultimately sealed when they failed to convert on a crucial 4th and 1 in the final minutes. Even in the loss, several Packers players delivered notable performances. Offensively, Jordan Love completed 20 of 36 pass attempts, tallying 204 all-purpose yards, while Josh Jacobs contributed 107 all-purpose yards and a rushing touchdown. Defensively, the team was led in tackles by Xavier McKinney with 7, followed by Quay Walker and Evan Williams, who each recorded 6 tackles.
