The Green Bay Gamblers were given a taste of their own medicine on Sunday as the Madison Capitols squeaked past them with a 3-2 overtime victory.
The Gamblers picked up where they left off on Friday with David Rozsíval and Geno Carcone tallying goals to make it 2-0 after the first period. Their offense dried up after that, registering just 15 more shots the rest of the game after tallying 11 in the first period. The Capitols meanwhile tied the game in the third period thanks to goals from Tyden Bergeson and Nolen Geerdes to force overtime. With less than two minutes left in the extra frame, Max Rider pushed the puck past Gamblers' netminder Joey Slavick to lead the Capitols to the victory. It spoiled in otherwise strong day in net for Slavick, who stopped 30 of the 33 shots he saw.
The Gamblers are back in action this weekend when they host the Cedar Rapids Roughriders for a pair at the Resch Center.
