Phoenix ride big first half to win over Green Knights

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team will now turn their focus to the regular season and its opening night matchup against Kansas after they beat St. Norbert College 75-48.

 

The Phoenix outscored their crosstown foes 33-17 in the first half thanks to 10 points from Marcus Hall. The Phoenix offense was efficient from the field, shooting over 53 percent including 56 percent from behind the arc. That is compared to the Green Knights, who were 0-12 from behind the arc in the first en route to shooting 30 percent from the field and 10 percent from the three-point line.

 

The Phoenix had four players score in double figures, including 13 points from Josh Hines and 10 points apiece from Marcus Hall, Maruan Cicic, and Dontrell Hewlett. Connor Pytleski scored 11 points to lead the Green Knights in the loss. Gibraltar alum Will Friedenfels was 2-2 from the free throw line in limited action.

 

The Phoenix men will now prepare for their matchup against the Jayhawks on November 3rd at 7 p.m.
