Year two of the Doug Gottlieb era begins officially Thursday night when the Green Bay Phoenix men welcome Division 3 opponent and crosstown foe St. Norbert College to the Kress Events Center.

The new look Phoenix tuned up for the season earlier this month when they lost to Bradley 83-78, a game where they trailed by 16 points at the break. The Phoenix had four players reach double figures in the loss, including Marcus Hall's 15 points. They look to improve on their 4-28 record from a season ago.

The Green Knights are coming off a 23-7 record, including a NACC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Baileys Harbor native Will Friedenfels is in his junior season on the squad, appearing in six games last year. In limited action, he grabbed nine rebounds, registered two assists, and posted his first collegiate block and point.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
