Samuelsson's overtime winner lifts Gamblers past NTDP

The Green Bay Gamblers earned a 2-1 overtime win over the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Saturday night at the Resch Center.

After a scoreless first period, NTDP’s Henry Sears broke the deadlock late in the second with a power-play goal assisted by Jack Semetsis and Jack Barch.

Green Bay tied the game in the final minute of regulation when Leo Katz scored his fourth of the season, assisted by Max Hafele and Nick Phillips.

In overtime, defenseman John Samuelsson netted the game-winner just over two minutes in, set up by Cal Buesgens, to secure the Gamblers’ second win of the season.

Green Bay outshot NTDP 37-18, while goaltender Kaden Slavick made 17 saves in the victory. NTDP’s Adam Chizik stopped 35 shots in the loss.
