Trailing 8-4 in the back end of its winner-take-all game, the Green Bay Rockers came back to beat the Duluth Huskies 10-8 to win their second Northwoods League Championship in three years.
The Rockers scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings only to watch the Huskies match them in the fourth inning and add six runs in the fifth inning to take the 8-4 advantage. They would whittle away at the advantage in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Collin Helms to make it 8-5. The Rockers scored three times in the eighth inning to tie the game thanks to a pair of sacrifice fly balls and a bases-loaded walk. The difference was a pair of unearned runs in the ninth inning with Stefan Di Corrado singling in the insurance run.
Max Humphrey, Helms, Joe Mennella, Xaige Lancaster, and Payton Mansfield all had two hits in the win as the Rockers outhit the host Huskies 14-9. They also played mistake-free baseball, while two Huskies' errors proved to be fatal. Drew Aguiar pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out four, including the championship-clinching punchout to end the game.
