Rockers sweep Woodchucks, traverse to Pit Spitters next

The Green Bay Rockers dug themselves out of an early hole to advance to the Division Championship after sweeping the Wausau Woodchucks with a 6-4 win on Monday.

The Woodchucks struck first with three runs in the second inning and matched the Rockers with one run in third inning to post a 4-1 lead. They would hold onto that lead until the eighth inning when the Rockers scored three times courtesy of a lead-off homer from Jeremy Delamota and a pair of errors. They took the lead in the next inning when Xaige Lancaster's power surge continued with a solo shot  and Eric Jeon scored on a wild pitch. The Woodchucks had the tying run at the plate when Max Soliz was struck out by Rockers pitcher KJ Ward, who pitched the final two innings with five strike outs.

The Rockers will travel around the lake on Tuesday before a night game against the Traverse City Pit Spitters, who swept their divisional semifinal series against Kalamazoo. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
