Mitch Jandrin drove in four runs on four hits to help guide Casco to a Shoreland League Championship Series berth after beating Algoma 12-2 on Wednesday.
The Penguins scored the first run on a Ben Skenadore homer, but a pair of RBI singles from Noah Lindsley and Collin Lacey helped the A's take the lead in the bottom of the second inning. The game flipped on its head when the A's scored nine runs in the fourth inning with Jandrin's grand slam and a two-run homer by Patrick Daniels dealing the fatal blows to the Penguins. With the game out of hand, the A's scored one more run in the fifth and the Penguins scored one in the sixth before the game was called in the seventh.
Daniels, Jandrin, and Lacey all had multi-RBI games in the A's win, combining to collect eight of the team's 13 hits. Lindsley earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven. Jaden Dillar went 2-3 for the Penguins while Jack Peterson, Skenadore, and Tyler Neinas registered the other hits in the loss. Carson Leist was on the mound for the loss, allowing 10 runs (9 ER) on eight hits across 3.1 innings.
