On Wednesday, the Green Bay Rockers used a three-run third inning to secure a 4-3 win over the Wausau Woodchucks.
After the two teams traded runs in the first inning, Joe Mennella hit a three-run homer over the right field wall to put the Rockers ahead. The Woodchucks scratched across one run in the seventh and ninth innings, but the Rockers left the tying run stranded at third base in the ninth to keep the game in the win column.
Aidan Kuni, Eli Selga, and David Bellenilla recorded two hits in the win. Cole Linton earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on seven hits while striking out three across six innings.
The two teams are back at it tonight at 6:35 p.m., though the Rockers will take on its alternate identity, the Green Bay Rollers, for the game at Capital Credit Union Park.
