Casco could clinch a berth in the Shoreland League Championship Series with a win Wednesday night against Algoma.

 

Three runs in the first inning set a tone that Casco did not relinquish as they beat Algoma on Monday, 4-1.

 

Owen Deprez delivered the game's fatal blow with a three-run homer to give the A's the early lead. Jack Peterson helped the Penguins get on the board in the sixth inning with a single that drove in Jaden Dillar. The A's scored an insurance run in the ninth inning when Deprez returned with an RBI single. Deprez's night ended with four RBI on two hits, with three other players registering at least one hit. The Penguins' Dillar, Peterson, and Tyler Neinas collected the lone hits for the Penguins in the series' opening loss.
