Shoreland League: Algoma, Kewaunee battle to keep season alive

The battle line drawn for the Shoreland League playoffs is approximately 11 miles long as Kewaunee and Algoma get set to play each other at Perry Field.

 

The Chiefs punched their ticket to Thursday's game with a 6-5 win over Ashwaubenon. Cal Ihlenfeldt registered two hits and an RBI, while Brett Paulsen went 1-3 with two RBI. Paulsen earned the win on the mound with eight strikeouts while allowing two runs (2 ER) on four hits across six innings.

 

The Penguins posted four runs in the seventh inning to beat Two Rivers 8-5. Brady Kita went 3-5 while Jaden Dillar and Jack Peterson each tallied two hits in the win. Dillar and Matthew Malvitz each homered, combining to drive in four runs. Charlie Prokash earned the win, allowing three runs (0 ER) on two hits while striking out three.

 

The Penguins had the upper hand on the Chiefs during the regular season, winning 18-4 on June 13th and 10-3 on June 30th.

 

First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
