The third time was the charm for the Casco A's, as they beat Algoma 8-3 on Sunday night to capture the Shoreland League's regular-season crown.
Collin Lacey kept the Guins down for most of the game with a three-run sixth inning, his lone blemish in a start where he went eight innings and struck out 17 batters. The A's had already done their work before that inning, scoring eight runs in the first five innings, including five in the fifth. In that inning, the A's took advantage of three walks, an error, and a Kyle Routhieaux single to take control of the game.
For the A's, Cole Bzdawka led the way with two RBI on a 1-3 evening while Trevor Reinhardt and Lacey also drove in runs. Jaden Dillar, Carson Leist, and Jack Peterson had the lone hits for the Guins, with Peterson posting the RBI.
