Rally comes up short again for Rockers

For the second straight game, a three-run rally was not enough for the Green Bay Rockers to squeak out a win in front of its home fans, this time an 8-5 loss to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Sunday afternoon.

The Rockers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning only to have the Rafters take the lead in the fifth inning with a four-run frame and tack on insurance runs in the sixth, eighth, and ninth innings before the Rockers could stage a comeback down 8-2. Joe Mennella's homer cleared the bases to make it 8-5 and Eli Selga's walk threatened to keep the rally going, but David Ballenilla's fly out ended the game.

The Rockers were limited to four hits in the game with Mennella collecting two of them.
