Green Bay to retire Sykes' number, name him program's general manager

One of the most decorated players in Green Bay men's basketball history will have his number raised to the rafters this fall, and a new title will be bestowed on him.

According to the blog Phear the Phoenix, head coach Doug Gottlieb announced at the program's golf outing that Keifer Sykes will see his number 24 retired and be named the program's first general manager.

Sykes has played professional basketball around the world since his Green Bay career ended in 2015, including a stint with the Indiana Pacers. In his senior season, he led the Phoenix to the NIT and earned Horizon League Player of the Year honors. He was also a first-team All-Horizon League and an honorable mention AP All-American.

His number is expected to be retired when the Phoenix welcomes Bradley to the Kress Center on October 11th. The Braves are led by head coach Brian Wardle, who coached Sykes while he was at Green Bay.
