Rockers run over by Rafters

An eight-run eighth inning turned a close game into a laugher as the Green Bay Rockers fell to Wisconsin Rapids 15-5 in a rain-delayed Sunday matinee.

The Rafters jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Rockers stormed back with three of their own in the second inning, thanks in part to back-to-back RBI hits by Brayden Buchanan and Jake Altman. It was a two-run game in the eighth inning before the Rafters scored eight runs, with a bases-clearing three-run triple by Noah Ruiz the lone hit in the frame.

Eric Jean led the Rockers with two hits while David Ballenilla paced the team with three RBI.

The Rockers are back in action Monday against Traverse City.
