Mets use Gutschow, errors to secure victory over Indians

Adam Gutschow's home run and eight Egg Harbor errors helped the Maplewood Mets win their Sunday afternoon matchup 10-2 against the Indians.

Three of those errors came in the second inning, leading to three runs for the Mets in the second inning. Cody Giesseman's two-RBI single narrowed the lead to 3-2, but Gutschow's two-run homer in the fifth gave the Mets more than enough breathing room. The Mets went on to score two more runs in fifth inning, four times in the sixth, and another one in the ninth.

Gutschow had four RBI and joined Kordell Draves, Zach Marchant, and Nolan Wagner in two-hit days. Draves also had a multi-RBI game for the Mets. Will Jandrin and Jeremiah Janke combined to strike out 13 Indians while allowing two runs (2 ER) on six hits.

Cory Fuller, Giesseman, Drew Price, Isaac Berkley, Nick Posh, and Cody Kollath accounted for the Indians hits while Jace Johnson took the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs (4 ER) on five hits with four strikeouts.
