DCL: Islanders outlast Indians

The lone close game of the afternoon in the Door County League required extra innings as Washington Island outlasted Egg Harbor 7-5 in 11 innings.

The game went back and forth. The Indians scored two runs in the first and second innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead, only to see the Islanders respond with a pair of two-run innings of their own. The Indians took a short-lived lead in the seventh before the Islanders responded with their own run in the eighth inning. It would remain that way until the 11th inning, when the Islanders drove in the eventual game-winning runs.

Leading the way for the Indians were Brady Kollath with four hits and Cory Fuller with three hits. Nick Kita drove in three runs as part of a 2-for-5 day.

Luke Geiger led the Islanders with four hits and an RBI. Matt Petersilka went 1-4 but drove in two runs.
