DCY Swim Team's outstanding performance at the Sectional Championship.

The DCY Swim Team had an outstanding performance at the 2025 YMCA Central Wisconsin Sectional Championship Meet, securing a 2nd place overall finish behind the host team, Wausau. The three-day meet is the most significant event of the season for DCY SWIM, with training and preparation focused on peaking at this team-based competition. This year, an impressive 87 swimmers represented DCY at the meet.

DCY’s relay teams delivered phenomenal performances, earning nine Sectional Championship titles, including victories in the following events:

11-12 Boys & Girls 200 Medley/Free Relays

8-Under Boys 100 Free/Medley Relays

9-10 Girls 200 Free/Medley Relays

Girls Open Free Relay

A highlight of the meet was the Girls Open Free Relay team—Julia Michalski, Kailyn Neville, Daylia Sund, and Sue Mann—winning their race and narrowly missing the National cut by just 0.02 seconds. However, the Open Girls Medley Relay team, consisting of Julia Michalski, Daylia Sund, Chloe Bissen, and Sue Mann, placed 2nd but achieved the National cut, securing their place at the National Championships. In total, DCY now has two National-qualifying relay teams, along with five individual swimmers qualifying in multiple events.

Across all relay events, DCY swimmers consistently demonstrated their strength, securing:

9 Sectional Relay Championships

9 Silver Medal Finishes

5 Bronze Medal Finishes

Participation in a total of 24 relays

Individually, DCY swimmers showcased their dedication and skill, earning:

33 Individual Sectional Championships

32 Silver Medal Finishes

22 Bronze Medal Finishes

With so many champions, the list of winners is too extensive to name individually—an impressive testament to the team’s hard work, commitment, and dedication.

Looking ahead, DCY is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming State Meet at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Milwaukee. The team has qualified 57 swimmers and entered 26 relay events. Impressively, DCY has the third-largest number of qualifiers for the State Meet across all competing teams, surpassing larger programs and continuing to prove their competitive excellence.

With high expectations and incredible momentum, DCY SWIM looks forward to another remarkable showing at the State Meet.
