Phoenix women swing through Detroit for road trip

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team will visit the Motor City for its first two of three games on the road, starting Thursday at Oakland.

In their 71-39 win last Saturday, the Phoenix women trailed 15-13 after the first quarter, but they allowed nine total points over the next two quarters en route to their 14th straight win. The Phoenix overcame a slow start to shoot over 50 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc in the game. Thanks to four three-pointers, Maddy Schreiber paced the Phoenix with 18 points off the bench. Three other Phoenix players reached double figures, Natalie McNeal scoring 13 points, Luxemburg-Casco's Cassie Schiltz chipping in 12 points, and Bailey Butler adding another 11 points.

The Golden Grizzlies have lost five of their last six games, which includes a 69-39 loss to the Phoenix on January 18th.

The two teams play at 6 p.m. on Thursday with the Phoenix wrapping up their Michigan residency with a noon tip against Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
