Phoenix men come up short against Titans; women battle Jags Sunday

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team still found themselves on the outside looking in at the win column on Saturday, losing to Detroit Mercy 65-55.

The loss wasted a double-double effort by Yontan Levy, who registered 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Phoenix tied the game at 25 apiece with four minutes left before the Titans finished the period off on an 8-3 run that left the Phoenix chasing the rest of the afternoon. Preston Ruedinger tallied 13 points and six rebounds, while Marcus Hall added 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Phoenix women return to work on Sunday at Indiana University-Indianapolis at 1 p.m. Earlier in the week, the Phoenix women outscored Cleveland State 26-16 in the fourth quarter to win 66-52 for their 11th straight win. Natalie McNeal scored a season-high 24 points for the Phoenix to lead all scorers. Callie Genke added 11 points, Bailey Butler tallied chipped in nine points, and Jasmine Kondrakiewicz registered eight points in the victory.
