Wooten scores hat trick as Gamblers hold off Lumberjacks

Round 1 of three against the Muskegon Lumberjacks went to the Green Bay Gamblers Friday night as they won 5-3 thanks to a hat trick.

 

Entering the second period down 1-0, the Gamblers scored three straight to take the lead thanks to two goals from Zach Wooten and one from Vasily Zelenov. After the Lumberjacks got one back at the end of the second period, Aidan Park got it back early in the third period. Wooten registered the hat trick on an empty netter to end the game. Gavin Moffatt stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced on the night to earn the win. 

 

The Gamblers and the Lumberjacks are back in action on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
