After a few days off, the Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams are back in action on Thursday night as they look to build their conference tournament resumes.
At the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, the Phoenix women will host a rematch of last year's conference tournament final when Cleveland State comes to town. They stretched their winning streak to 10 with its 64-56 win over Northern Kentucky last Saturday. The Phoenix outscored the Norse 18-9 in the second quarter, a margin that would prove pivotal later in the contest. Luxemburg-Casco alum Cassie Schiltz led the Phoenix with 14 points, while Bailey Butler and Callie Genke each chipped in 12 points
In the Detroit suburbs, the Phoenix men will try to snap its 17-game losing streak when they play at Oakland. In its 81-66 loss to Cleveland State. The Phoenix were within single digits for much of the game before a 17-4 run to end the game made things look more lopsided. Yonatan Levy paced the Phoenix with a career-high 19 points. Ben Tweedy added his own career-high 12 points off the bench while Foster Wonders and Preston Ruedinger tallied 10 points apiece in the loss.
Both games begin at 6 p.m.
