Streaks challenged but persist for Phoenix basketball teams

Things got interesting late in both games, but the months-long streaks for the Green Bay basketball teams persisted on Saturday.

In Highland Heights, the Phoenix women needed 11 three-pointers to get past Northern Kentucky 64-56. The Phoenix outscored the Norse 18-9 in the second quarter, a margin that would prove pivotal later in the contest. Luxemburg-Casco alum Cassie Schiltz led the Phoenix with 14 points, while Bailey Butler and Callie Genke each chipped in 12 points in the Phoenix's 10th win in a row.

The Phoenix men saw their losing streak hit 17 with an 81-66 loss to Cleveland State. The Phoenix were within single digits for much of the game before a 17-4 run to end the game made things look more lopsided. Yonatan Levy paced the Phoenix with a career-high 19 points. Ben Tweedy added his own career-high 12 points off the bench while Foster Wonders and Preston Ruedinger tallied 10 points apiece in the loss.
