Gamblers struggle on the road during weekend set

The momentum that started at the Resch Center on Friday did not not continue through the weekend as the Green Bay Gamblers managed just one win out of their three games over the last three days.

Friday's 5-3 win over the Chicago Steel saw the Gamblers start and end their game with two goals. Different Gamblers scored all five goals, with Elliott Gulley and Aidan Park registering multi-point games with a goal and an assist, while Reece Cordray matched them with two assists.

Things looked good when the Gamblers traveled south of the border to face the Steel again, with Niles Benson and Andrew O'Sullivan registering game-tying goals in the second period. However, it wasn't meant to be as Adam Valentini finished his hat trick in a four-goal third period that saw the Steel win the game 6-2.

Things didn't improve Sunday night in Michigan as Team USA downed the Gamblers 6-3. Will Zellers registered a first-period hat trick to lead the Gamblers to think they would get back into the win column. Team USA would go on to score three goals in the second period to tie the game and three more in the third period to put the contest away. Richard Gallant led Team USA with two goals and an assist.
