The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team will need to break through its in-state rival Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon to snap its dozen-game losing streak.
The Phoenix have struggled mightily since beating Western Illinois and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in the season's opening weeks. In their last game, a second-half swoon buried the Phoenix men in Northern Kentucky, falling to the Norse 78-60. Down by just two at the break, the Norse outscored the Phoenix 34-16 down the stretch to extend the Phoenix's losing skid to 12. Marcus Hall paced the Phoenix with 19 points, Preston Ruedinger contributed 13 points, and Mac Wrecke chipped in eight points in the loss. The Panthers are looking at the Phoenix as their slump buster as well after recent losses to Oakland and Purdue Fort Wayne. The two rivals meet at UWM Panther Arena at 3 p.m.
Prior to that, the Phoenix women's team will continue their road trip with a 1 p.m. tip against Robert Morris.
