Packers CB Alexander out for season

Unless the Green Bay Packers make the Super Bowl, you have seen the last of CB Jaire Alexander this season.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur shared the news during his media availability, saying that Alexander had surgery on Tuesday to relieve the stress and swelling on a PCL tear he suffered earlier this year. Alexander has not appeared in a game since he played 10-plus snaps against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in November. He has been in practice off and on since but never was able to suit up for a game.

Alexander was one of the seven players who did not practice on Wednesday as they prepared for their regular-season finale against the Bears. Zayne Anderson (concussion), Brenton Cox, Jr. (foot), Andre Dillard (concussion), Quay Walker (ankle), Christian Watson (knee), and Evan Williams (concussion) also did not practice. Six other players were listed on the injury report, five of which were limited. The Bears only had six players total on the injury list, five of which did not practice.
