The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team continues its road swing on Saturday when they face Providence.
In their last game, the Phoenix men nearly led wire-to-wire in an 87-73 win over Western Illinois. An 8-0 run sparked the Phoenix's offense to build a lead of over 20 points before the Leathernecks could cut into the lead late. Thanks to eight made three-pointers, Anthony Roy led the Phoenix with 35 points. Jeremiah Johnson chipped in 15 points, and Foster Wonders scored 11 in the victory. It was head coach Doug Gottlieb's first official win as a Division 1 basketball coach.
The Friars of the Big East Conference have started their season 3-0, picking up victories over Central Connecticut, Stonehill, and Hampton.
Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
