The Green Bay Gamblers split their matchups this weekend against the Chicago Steel, and the road team won both games.
In Friday's game in Green Bay, a three-goal outburst in the second period helped the Steel get past the Gamblers 6-2. Will Zellers scored in the first period and Aidan Park registered his goal in the third period for the Gamblers. Gavin Moffatt stopped 19 of the 24 shots he faced as he was hassled by the Steel's Aidan Dyer, who scored one goal and helped on two others.
The Gamblers won in Geneva, Ill., on Saturday, 4-3 in overtime. After Niles Benson got the Gamblers on the scoreboard in the opening frame, the Gamblers and Steel combined for five goals in the final stanza, including goals from the Gamblers' Vasily Zelenov and Anthony Cardilli. Zellers delivered the game-winner halfway through the extra period to give the Gamblers the win. Goalie Dylan Johnson made 21 saves on 24 shots faced.
