The Green Bay Gamblers travel to our state's capital city in hopes of extending their winning streak to three when they face the Madison Capitols on Saturday night.
The Gamblers used a three-goal second period to thrust itself past the Omaha Lancers 4-2 to earn the weekend sweep. Trailing 1-0 heading into the frame, Will Zellers, Geno Carcone, and Owen Buesgens all scored in the second period with Zellers and Buesgens' tallies coming within 30 seconds of each other. The two teams traded goals in the third with Vasily Zelenov registering an empty netter for the final margin of victory.
The Capitols scored three goals in each of their games but ended up splitting their matchups with the Tri-City Storm last weekend.
The puck drops at the Bob Suter's LEGACY20 Arena Middleton at 7:05 p.m.
