Egg Harbor keeps pace with blowout win over Institute

The Egg Harbor Indians did what they needed to do to keep their season alive on Sunday with a 15-5 win over Institute Sunday afternoon.

The Indians struck early with five runs in the first inning thanks to an error, a Nick Kita double, a Brady Kita single, a passed ball, and a sacrifice fly. The Indians would enter the fifth inning with an 8-0 lead when they put the game out of reach thanks to a seven-run frame that saw Cody Giesseman, Corey Fuller, Brady Kita, and Drew Price all drive in runs before Joe Sawyer put an exclamation point on the inning with a three-run home run.

The Cubs would rally in the seventh inning when Chase Haberli's single knocked in a pair, and Brent Haberli recorded a run-scoring hit before stealing home ahead of a Frankie Ash sacrifice fly.

The Indians will have to beat Baileys Harbor on Friday night to keep their playoff hopes alive since Washington Island was able to win their matchup against the A's on Sunday.
