Kolberg scored nine runs in the final three innings to beat Institute 12-5 for the second win of the weekend.
The Cubs struck first with three runs in the opening inning thanks to RBI singles by Quinn Schram and Kyle Ploor. Tyler Neinas would cut the lead with an RBI single before Jake Schneider stole home to make it 3-2. Austen Dart would tie the game with an RBI single in the third inning, but the Cubs would retake the lead in the bottom of the third when they scored one run on a fielder's choice double play, and Nick Peterson added a run with an RBI single.
It would stay that way until the seventh inning when a Dart single turned into three runs thanks to an error. Thanks to another error by the Cubs defense, Dart would score later in the inning. The Braves would put the game away in the ninth inning with five runs in the frame, capitalized by extra-base hits by Devin Schinktgen and Jack Peterson.
The Cubs got multi-hit games from Jaeger Brusky and Schram while the Braves received them from Dart, Nick LeCaptain, and Schneider.
