Penguins top A's in Shoreland League action

Algoma Penguins broke open a 1-1 game in the seventh inning, scoring five runs en route to a 6-1 win over the Casco A's in Shoreland Leagure baseball Tuesday night.

 

The Penguins struck early in the first inning with Jack Peterson hitting a solo home run 

Trevor Reinhardt singled in a run in the sixth inning for the A's to tie the game up before the Penguins exploded in the seventh


Aaron Brey picked up the win for the Penguins, giving up just three hits and no runs over three and one-third innings.  He had three strikeouts and no walks. Cole Bzwadka took the loss for Casco. 

Peterson went 2-for-3  with two RBIs for the Penguins, while Bzwadka went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Casco's offense.

Algoma Penguins will travel to Kewaunee to face the Chiefs on Friday.
