Sister Bay scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning, but it was Kolberg who walked away with the 8-6 win on Sunday afternoon.
The Braves struck first with two runs in the fourth inning when Austin Rohe singled off Sam Forkert to bring home Trevor Reinhardt and Jack Peterson. Chubs Laughlin would tie the game in the fifth inning with a two-run double and take a slim 3-2 lead in the next inning on a run-scoring single by Forkert.
Kyle Routhieaux's bases-clearing triple and Rohe's second RBI single gave the Braves the lead back before Tyler Neinas made it a two-run lead. The Braves would add important insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning when Jack Peterson hit his second homer in as many weeks to make 8-3. The Bays would not go away quietly as they scored three times in the ninth inning thanks to five straight singles with knocks by Spencer Krause and Griffin Cole driving in runs. Charlie Neinas got Matt Hecht and Forkert to end the threat and the game. All four pitchers used the game (Kolberg's Jake Schneider and Charlie Neinas and Sister Bay's Sam Forkety and Sam Lindenberg) gave up at least three runs with Schneider and Forkert earning the decisions.
