The Maplewood Mets bookended their afternoon with four-run innings to beat Baileys Harbor 11-1 at home on Sunday.
The Mets took advantage of nine walks, four errors, and seven hits to achieve the eight-inning win. Kordell Draves got things going in the first inning with a two-run RBI single to make it 2-0 Mets. It would be 4-0 Mets when the A's got their first run across when pitcher Jeremiah Jahnke mishandled a Cooper Cole groundball, bringing in Bryce Plzak. Draves would strike again in the bottom of the fourth inning when he drove in another pair to make it 6-1. The Mets would pile it on in the eighth inning to end the game prematurely, with Draves, Tory Jandrin, and Kody Kissinger all recording RBI hits and a bases-loaded walk. Draves and Jandrin had multi-hit games for the Mets, while Jahnke picked up the win, striking out nine and allowing one run (0 ER) on three hits across six innings.
Cole had two hits to lead the A's. Danny Lodl took the loss, allowing six runs (5 ER) on three hits across four innings while striking out five.
