Bays win extra inning thriller over Ports on 105.1 The GOAT

Sam Forkert's RBI single scoring Matt Hecht was the difference in the Sister Bay Bays win over the West Jacksonport Ports 3-2 in 11 innings Sunday.

The Ports took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to two wild pitches that scored Riley Cordier and Eric Bley.

Sister Bay responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, on a two-run RBI single by Griffen Cole, which tied the game at 2-2.

Forkert came in to pitch for the Bays in the seventh inning and picked up the win in relief by shutting the Ports down in the extra frames.

Port's starting pitcher Woody Schartner went nine strong innings, allowing only two runs.   Drew Tanck took the tough-luck loss in relief, going the final one and 2/3 innings.

Sister Bay is now 7-0, while the Ports fall to 1-6 in Door County League baseball play.
