The old ballfield in Kolberg will host two games on Saturday. The legends of yesteryear will take the field before the stars of today battle after.
The rare Saturday showdowns will feature an old-timers game at 11 a.m., followed by the Braves hosting Maplewood at 2:30 p.m.
The Braves continued their winning ways on Sunday with a 14-1 win over West Jacksonport. In addition to drawing six walks and taking advantage of three errors, the Braves posted 17 hits in the win. Trevor Reinhardt led the way with four hits, Jack Peterson and Austen Rohe had three hits, and Kyle Routhieaux and Nick LeCaptain had two. Rohe's hits were the big ones, as he drove in four runs, while Routhieaux and Peterson also had multi-RBI days. Jake Schneider earned the win for the Braves, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out 11.
After starting with an undefeated mark, the Mets have dropped two straight after losing a pitcher's duel on Sunday 3-0 to Sister Bay. The Bays' Sam Forkert and the Mets' Jeremiah Jahnke went toe-to-toe in their pitching performances. Jahnke went eight innings, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out seven. Adam Gutschow had two of the Mets' four hits in the loss.
