Bays power past Cubs

The Sister Bay Bays jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and never looked back in an 8-1 win Sunday over Institute.

Spencer Krause singled in the game's first run in the opening frame before a fielder's choice and an error brought home two more runs in the second. Sawyer Johnson doubled home one run, and Alex Laughlin singled in another two to make it 6-0.

The score would be 7-0 before the Cubs got on the board, with Jaeger Brusky driving in a run on a double play in the sixth inning. Krause scored the game's final run in the eighth inning when he stole third base and took home on a wild pitch.

Sam Lindenberg earned the win, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two. Laughlin, Stewart Larsen, Krause, and Lindenberg all posted at least two hits in the game. Frankie Ash, Kyle Ploor, and Josh Pflieger registered hits for the Cubs.
