The Green Bay Rockers were outhit 12-6 on a sun-splashed Sunday afternoon at Capital Credit Union Park, falling to the Madison Mallards 7-5.
The Rockers struck first when Mallards left fielder Liam Moreno misread a line drive to him, allowing the ball to get past him for a Logan Gregorio triple while two scored. A base hit later would make it a 3-0 game. The Mallards would score in the next four innings, doubling up the Rockers 6-3. The two teams traded runs in the ninth inning, with a solo shot from UW-Milwaukee product Carson Hansen being the other main offensive highlight for the Rockers, which dropped to 1-6 on the season with the loss.
The Rockers' Jackson Kline went 2-4 to lead the team in hits. The pitching staff struck out eight men but were marred again by seven walks and an error in the loss.
