Braves walk off Islanders

Austen Dart's single to left field capped off a three-run rally to help Kolberg get past Washington Island 8-7 on Sunday afternoon.

The Islanders scored single goals in the first and second innings, but the Braves returned the favor in the third and fourth innings. The two teams traded runs in the seventh and eighth innings as the Braves took a one run lead into the ninth inning. The Islanders would make their push for their first win of the season by scoring three runs in the top of the frame, only to have the Braves repeat the feat in the bottom half to take the win.

Caleb Cornell set the table for the Islanders as he went 3-5 with two RBI from the lead-off spot. Matt Foss also had a two RBI day while Ray MacDonald and Ben Geiger each drove in one run.  For the Braves, Jack Peterson, Trevor Reinhardt, and Kyle Routhieaux all had multi-hit games, while Christian Counard drove in two runs as he went 1-3. Tyler Neinas earned the win for the Braves, allowing four runs (3 ER) on three hits while striking out four in relief of Jake Schneider.
