Institute hosts nightcap against Maplewood on 105.1 The GOAT

The Institute Cubs will welcome the Maplewood Mets to Sevastopol Town Park on Friday for its first night game of the young Door County League season.

The two teams are living on opposite sides of the DCL standings, with the Cubs still looking for their first win of the season with an 0-3 record, while the Mets hold a 3-0 record. Last week, the Cubs fell to Kolberg 19-2 in seven innings. Robbie Pollman registered two hits, and Frankie Ash drove in one of the Cubs' two runs in the loss. The Mets have followed up a season-opening thrashing of Baileys Harbor with two one-run wins against Washington Island and West Jacksonport. Last week, Kordell Draves drove in two runs, and two players had multi-hit games against the Ports, which resulted in a 5-4 win.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pre-game show followed by the opening pitch at 7:30 p.m.

The Cubs/ Mets matchup kicks off the weekend for the Door County League, which will also feature a Friday night game in Baileys Harbor as the A's host West Jacksonport. Sunday's matchups include Washington Island heading to Kolberg and Egg Harbor hosting Sister Bay on 105.1 The GOAT.
